The Gouldian Finch is endangered in Queensland – close to extinction. Hardly any birds have been seen in the state the last couple of decades, and nearly all research has been done on populations in the Northern Territory. In February 2018, Dr. Ray Pierce and Patrick De Geest found a population of 100+ Gouldian Finches in Far North Queensland. With the help of volunteers, your donations, and our partners (see below) we are working with private land owners to secure the future of this endangered finch.
